Our History:

 The IFG group of companies have been formed by Douglas Cabral with very specific focuses in mind, the Growth and Protection of our clients. Douglas, the former CEO of JSM Brokerage, an insurance brokerage firm with over 12,000 active clients across their three office locations, (Mattituck, NY, Whitestone, NY and Jupiter, FL) saw first hand the need for alternative financing when Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast.

Having a large commercial insurance book of business, he noticed policyholders needed access to capital, as Businesses needed to get operational far faster than the machine of Government and Insurance Companies allowed for.

Capital to fill the gap for business owners was needed but not readily available. Therefore, the need for alternative financing options was evident. Douglas, an advocate for small businesses decided to research business models and cash flow solutions. He spent the year contacting institutional lenders, private investors, and hedge fund managers to learn about their lending requirements to find a way to bridge the lending gap.

In November if 2013 he sold his positions in JSM Brokerage and formed International Funding Group to assist business owners in securing alternative finance solutions.   As the IFG team began to work with business owners across the U.S. it was evident that further services would be needed to better assist and educate clients.

After reviewing hundreds of balance sheets of small business owners it was clear that many entrepreneurs did not understand the fundamentals a profit and loss and balance sheet reflected. Many assumed that a loss at the end of the year would not affect them when they applied for a business loan. Evidently they felt that a loss just helped them pay less in taxes but would not affect them long term. Obviously, they were wrong, misguided, and not well informed.

It became evident at IFG that we needed to provide additional services to properly service our growing client base, so we added to our professional team a CPA with over twenty five years experience and formed IFG Accounting and Business Consulting. This division offers accounting, bookkeeping, a “Rent a CFO” program, tax preparation, cash flow analysis, business valuations, and merger and acquisition preparation. It offers assistance to business owners to operate their business more efficiently and effectively.

The IFG team also uncovered that many businesses evolved from their initial plan and many had insurance gaps and were not properly covered as there business exposures had changed.

Understanding that the IFG team needed to offer risk management services to protect the assets and lifestyles of our clients IFG Insurance Services was formed. We brought on insurance professionals with over forty years combined experience to manage IFG Insurance Services. The division serves both personal and commercial lines insurance. Our dedicated team provides a free no obligation insurance review, exposure report, and provides competitive solutions to mitigate risk.

We started out as an alternative lending solutions provider and evolved into a consulting firm. We are very proud of our three divisions and will continue to grow along side of our clients and continue to provide services to better serve them.
